Adult Education Board Policy
The Governing Board recognizes that education is a lifelong process and that it is important for individuals to continuously develop new skills. The Superintendent or designee shall develop and oversee the district's adult education program. The Board shall approve all courses to be offered in this program. Click here to read the Adult Education Board Policy.
 

Administrative Regulations 6200
All adult education programs, courses and classes and their enrollment period shall be listed in the district's catalog of adult education classes provided to the public. (Education Code 52523) Click here to read the Administrative Regulations 6200.
 

Announcement of Nondiscrimination
The Mt. Diablo Unified School District does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, gender, disability, age, marital status or religion in any of its policies, practices or procedures. This nondiscrimination policy complies with the requirements of Titles VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Individuals with Disabilities Act of 1990 and other Federal and State laws. Coverage applies to admission and access to treatment and employment, District programs and activities, including vocational education. The lack of English language skills will not be a barrier to admission and participation in the vocational education or any other District program. Attendance
Your attendance in many of our classes generates state funding. During the term a class may be canceled if attendance falls too low.
 

AnchorBooks
Some books are available for sale for classes adopting standardized textbooks. Books will not be repurchased. Books for most Community Education classes are available at most major bookstores.
 

AnchorCell Phones
Cell Phones are not to be used in classrooms.
 

AnchorChildren
Children are not permitted in classrooms, except for selected Parent Ed and Family Literacy classes.
 

AnchorComplaint Policy
The Mt. Diablo Unified School District has a uniform complaint process as required in Code of Regulations, Title 5, Section 4622. MDUSD Policy 1312.1(a). The Executive Director of Instructional Support is designated as the compliance officer. A copy of that policy is posted in the Adult Education Office. The policy provides for mediation or investigation, presentation of information relevant to the complaint, follow up and remedies or appeals as appropriate. Endorsement
Mt. Diablo Adult Education does not endorse nor recommend any private contractors, even those who teach classes in the Community Education Department.
 

No Smoking
Board Policy and 'State Law prohibits smoking on any part of our campuses, including all parking areas.
 

Parking at PHEC
Parking is available days and evenings in the large lot south of the campus and in the back adult education lot. Evening parking is permitted at the front of the school.

Refund Policy

Refunds—For all Adult Education classes, not including CTEC programs, requests for refunds must be received no later than two working days prior to the start of class. A $15 processing fee will be deducted from each refund. No refunds after class start date. A full refund (no processing fee) will be given to students if Adult Education cancels the class. Refunds for CTEC programs are made according to a specified refund schedule.
