Real world training for real world jobs!

janekeating101.jpgJane Keating set a goal to obtain skills that would lead her to full time employment. Jane joined the Administrative Assistant program in September 2012, starting with a beginning keyboarding class. Within a year, she successfully completed the computer applications component, the office skills course and a work-based activity (internship). In September 2013, Jane was awarded a program completion certificate and the following month became employed as a full time secretary at a local high school. She is excited to work with students along their path to graduation.

Arjun-Dhillon.jpgArjun Dhillon, while a student in the Surgical Technologist program, submitted an essay and application for a Foundation for Surgical Technology Award. He received $750 to further his surgical technology education, one of only a dozen students from across the nation to receive this award! Arjun was able to gain employment soon after graduation at an Oakland surgery center and with the California Transplant Donor Network. He truly enjoys helping people and working as part of a team.
