Plugged In and Charged Up!

Vittoria Abbate, Director, College & Career and Adult Education for Mt. Diablo Unified School District, represented K-12 Adult Schools at COABE’s second Capitol Hill Day, on September 28, 2016, during Adult Ed and Family Literacy Week. COABE brought together state association leaders from around the country in an effort to impact our legislators in a more meaningful way. Over 120 visits with legislators were made, and state leaders received training and materials to bring back to their state associations and professional development
agencies.

The theme for our MDAE All-Staff Professional Development Day this year was “To Inspire and Innovate…Plug In and Charge Up!” We are fortunate to have a Director who is “plugged in and charged up” for Mt. Diablo Adult Education!

*“
COABE, the Commission on Adult Basic Education, is organized to advance national and international adult education and
literacy opportunities for all persons. They are educators, administrators, mentors, and guides working to improve educational
outcomes for adults and build communities.”
